Public Involvement
As part of the Public Involvement Process for the Washington Thoroughfare Study (also known as Stakeholder Involvement Plan), stakeholders are brought in early and often to strive for consensus and focus on developing a project that will reflect its surroundings, or the context in which it exists.
Stakeholders
are all those potentially affected by, concerned with,
or interested in theproposed improvements.
Consensus is defined as a majority of the stakeholders being in agreement, with all affirming that their input was duly considered. The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will try to achieve stakeholder consensus on project choices. However, LCDOT is ultimately responsible for the final project decisions.
Context includes both visible elements - such as environmental or historic resources in the project area - and invisible elements such as community values, traditions, and expectations.
